Another Day, Another Dust Bunny

Health Update-I DIDN'T GET SICK-----GO VITAMIN C !!! Also, we finally got insurance so we now can go to a proper doctor.

Weather Update-WINTER IS FINALLY ENDING!!!!

Home Update-Infested with dust bunnies. Yes...it's true. Everywhere I turn I see dust. I vacuum, and later that day....dust. I use a Swiffer....and later that day....dust. "How can this be?"you may well ask. The answer "Switzerland is dusty." "But you come from Arizona!" you say..."but Switzerland has TONS of farms and gardens, and our windows have to be opened every day to prevent mold." And so the dust bunnies invade......will I ever defeat them?

Cameron recovered from the flew in time to start school after a 2 week break. He still struggles with not getting to nap until 2:30 and frequently tells me that he's going "straight to bed" when we get home. Clearly he's not ready to give up his nap.

Cameron also received a new scooter this weekend. The one we originally bought him was a piece of junk. The weather was lovely, and he tested his new scooter on Saturday. He particularly enjoyed riding it, then jumping off and saying "Tah Dah!" Ah....to be a child and take pleasure in such small things.

Our newest discovery is "Starbies." A testament to the lack of civil suits in this country, Starbies is an indoor playground. Dietikon's industrial section has slowly been converting to an outlet shopping district. An old warehouse was converted into a few stores on the lower floor, and Starbies on the upper. They place has trampolines, slides, jumping castles, a go-cart course, and a place for very small children to crawl and play. Unlike the few indoor playgrounds in the U.S.....this one has hardly any staff. The parents are actually expected to "watch" their children, and the children are "expected" to behave. While there are a few children who are aggressive, for the most part everything runs smoothly. The result is, that for the cost of one person to man the door and two people to man the food cafe, you can let in hundreds children at 13 francs a piece.........you might as well print money.

We also got to return to the zoo this weekend. Our first trip to the zoo was difficult because it was very cold. Now that it has warmed up a bit we went again and had a very good time. It was the first time I've ever seen a live kangaroo and hippo. It was the first time for Cameron too, but he was so busy moving from one thing to another he didn't fully appreciate it. Oh well...there will be other trips to the zoo.

  1. So glad you avoided being sick. Sounds like an exciting zoo trip. Good luck with the dust...I truly hate dusting.

  2. I on the other hand truly hate cleaning. I must because my house is never clean! Course could be my wild kids who leave trails of disaster behind them. It is sooo good to see your blog Angie. This is one of the good cousins, the one who spent many summers with you and I start with a B. Can't wait to catch up on your life.

  3. Hello Angie, Dave and Cameron!!! Who would have thunk it!!! Switzerland dusty?!?
How have you been? Do you love it there? Do you miss the USA? You must because this is the best country on the planet...in spite of itself.
News about the Hecht girls: Gen is going to graduate on time. Mads is loving school, but hates the cold. Erin is adjusting to having two kids who need her constantly.
Hope all is well and that you are happy. Aunt M
